Trim rates outfits from a photo. The photo never leaves your phone. This page explains exactly what is and is not collected, in the same terms Apple requires on the App Store listing.
Trim does not upload your photos, and never has. Every scan is analysed on the device using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The photo, the score and the breakdown are stored locally on your phone and are not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
There is no server that holds your outfits. Deleting the app, or using Delete All Data in Account, removes them permanently — we cannot recover them because we never had them.
Trim collects the following, through the services listed:
| Data | Why | Handled by | Tied to you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple account identifier | To sign you in and keep your account | Firebase Authentication (Google) | Yes |
| Email address | To identify your account. If you chose Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever receive a relay address, not your real one | Firebase Authentication (Google) | Yes |
| Device identifier | Anonymous usage measurement | Firebase Analytics (Google) | No |
| App interactions | Which screens are reached and whether a subscription was started — so we can tell where the app confuses people | Firebase Analytics (Google) | No |
| Crash and performance data | To find and fix crashes | Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | No |
| Subscription status | To know whether your subscription is active, and to keep it attached to your account so it follows you to another device | RevenueCat and Apple | Yes |
Trim never receives your payment details. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, and Apple does not share your card or billing information with us.
Trim shows no ads, contains no advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Nothing collected is sold, and nothing is shared with data brokers.
Only the service providers named above — Google (Firebase Authentication, Analytics and Crashlytics), RevenueCat, and Apple — and only for the purposes listed. They process it on our behalf under their own terms:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except where the law requires it.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: Account → Delete Account. This removes your Trim account and every scan, photo and score held on the device.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription — Apple bills that, so cancel it from Account → Manage Subscription or in your Apple Account settings.
Account records are kept until you delete your account. Analytics and crash data are retained on Firebase's default schedule and are not tied to your identity. Scans live on your device for as long as you keep them.
Trim is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal information, and to object to how it is processed. Account deletion in the app does most of this immediately. For anything else, email us and we will respond.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
